The Knox County Register of Deeds office currently utilizes four third-party vendors for E-Recording services. These vendors work as the middle-man in the filing process where all necessary components of the document to be recorded is submitted to the vendor through an online portal. It is still the responsibility of the Register’s office to check, verify, and authorize the validity of the documents before accepting the recording and these documents officially becoming of record. All fees and taxes are paid directly to the vendors and each of them send a daily deposit for the full amount of their recorded transactions at the end of each business day via ACH deposit into the Register’s Fee and Commission banking account.
