Property sales of $87 million called, ‘average week’ - Knox County Register of Deeds

Like many of you, I’m looking forward to the long weekend and the official kickoff of UT football. Let’s all cheer the Vols to victory to get this exciting season rolling!

The third week of August was an average week for the office, with 1,462 new recordings processed. Among those were 325 Trust Deeds (loans) totaling $137.89 million in value. Warranty Deeds (property sales) made up 247 recordings valued at $88.66 million.

Seven of the loans were for amounts over $1 million. The largest, which came in at $46 million, was backed by Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. The second largest was funded by CBBC Bank and was valued at $7.25 million. The other large loans are as follows:

So far this month, we have recorded 1,037 loans totaling $384.53 million. This includes thirty loans exceeding $1 million. As for the transfer side of real estate, 896 Warranty Deeds have been added to the records for the month. Last week six sales over $1 million were recorded, but all of them were residential properties. That brings August’s total of high-priced sales to 35. Only eight were commercial properties.
